Welcome, friend! I’m Gretchen Leigh, and I’m the owner and alternative stylist behind Pigment Salon Studio! My fascination with the beauty industry got started when I was little; tagging along to my mom's hair appointments with her. I was happy to sit in the salon for hours, watching as clients were transformed. Today in the salon I still live for the “Big Reveal” moment-thank you, every makeover show ever; it’s still honestly one of my favorite moments of the entire appointment.

Pigment Salon Studio opened it’s doors in 2020, with the focus of providing a single stylist, one on one hair experience for my guests. Pigment is a private home salon studio, which means that we can chat freely, sing along with Chappell Roan, or a 90’s Pandora station, I can focus completely on you, and if you need some down time to relax or catch up on work, I can provide you with some privacy. Several clients have compared in studio experience to having their hair done on the set of Steel Magnolias, and I am always here for a Dolly Parton reference!
In 2019 I began focusing on creative coloring and cutting-my goal is to provide a personalized experience to each of my guests, customizing all aspects of your appointment to your needs today and your goals for tomorrow!
Working with a focus on guest's expressing their authentic selves through their hair goals has given me the opportunity to provide a more couture, individualized approach to color for my guests; as well as the space to grow in new directions in the beauty industry. Continued education is a passion of mine, and I take classes several times a year to stay on top of new trends, techniques and technology.
opening the studio in 2020 has also opened up a safe space for guests to express their authentic selves; and receive identity affirming services in an environment designed for the focus to be on the individual.
My obsession with getting my own hair done and experimenting with color design ultimately got me to commit to becoming a hair stylist. I loved the combination of art and science, and finding a career path that let me express my creative side. I continue to bring that excitement into every appointment in the salon today. I'm grateful to be a part of a community that brings passion into continuing to update both technology and education. My mission as a hair stylist is to use that education to continue to grow as an artist who creates unique, beautiful, healthy hair experiences for my guests at every appointment.
These days, when I'm not in the salon, you can find me taking adventures with my dogs Riley and kiwi, running away to the ocean, or grabbing a mocha cold brew with friends at one of the valley's amazing locally owned coffee shops. I'm also a huge fan of standup comedy, and I love when I can exchange standup special recommendations with my guests-i'm obsessed with hannah gadsby's gender agenda, and marcello hernandez's American boy right now! I'm also looking forward to seeing muna in concert soon, and general fall festivities-apple picking and cider donuts are next up on my agenda.
